Original artwork description:

A plein air painting created on-site on Lake Nokomis Parkway in Minneapolis. Features a close-up view of a pink magnolia blossom with a glimpse of a delicate branch and bud at the top right. This blossom was painted onsite, outdoors, and the background was created in studio using a 3-step process of masking the flower, creating the dripping and splashing effects in the background with casein paint, and finishing the surface with oil glaze. The background contains varied shades of dark purple, light blue, bright pink and green to compliment the colors of the flower. This piece is framed in a 2" wide frame with ornate moulding and whitewash finish. It is ready to hang.
