Original artwork description:

I first made 2 watercolours on a local golf course in order to get green grass in the foreground. Then I used them as studies to realise this painting. Successive layers of thin nearly transparent paint were added on top of each other, a technique which gives luminosity. (But it takes a long time because each layer must be dry before applying the next one!). In this work I tried to show the sunlight filtering through the trees and the tree shadows on the grass. This oil is ready to hang. The sides are painted black for presentation.

Materials used:

extra fine oil pigments on a linen canvas
