Pilate
The sculpture is made from the characterful root wood of an oak. The wood, which is very difficult to process, has come to rest completely due to years of storage. No more cracks are to be expected, because work on it started in 2014 and was completed in 2023. The abstract organic form is reminiscent of a mountain landscape and is made out of one piece. Finely sanded and treated with precious wax, a water-repellent, satin-matt shine appears. Oak wood is also suitable for outdoor use. The logo roko (Roland Koepfer) is carved, a certificate of authenticity is included with the shipment. A free-standing, floating position is possible with the stainless steel stand. The relief is worked in such a way that it can be hung directly on a wall in three different positions, a single hook is enough. The wall sculpture, weighing 3.2 kilograms and 17 cm deep, becomes particularly lively when light and shadow come into play.
