This is an original handmade linocut print of a pig surrounded by flowers.
Available in an edition of 9.
It is printed with Caligo Safe Wash oil paint in 14 layers.
Image print size: 29 x 29 cm.
Paper size: 35 x 35 cm.
The print is delivered without a frame.
I spent over two months on the design and printing.
My inspiration comes from the style of William Morris who I think made beautiful prints. It is an Art Nouveau style.
My studio is in a rural area, and I hear the sheep, horses and goats when I am painting.
I love animals and therefore like to paint them.
This is a varied edition. Each print is hand printed and is slightly different. I may have used a roller slightly differently or mixed a colour slightly differently.
Therefore, when making a choice, it is useful to select the edition, which will show you the enlarged photo.
It is a reduced lino print, in that more lino is cut away for each of the colour layers. Once I have completed a layer and started cutting into the lino, there is no going back and mistakes cannot be corrected or changes made, so a lot of care and planning is required. This image has 12 cutting and printing layers.
I have posted a video of the process on Youtube.
