Walking on the fells is my passion and this particular valley is completely unspoilt. I sketched it, made colour notes and photographedAfter several hours hiking it was time for coffee and sandwiches. What a perfect location! I started sketching and drawing and making colour plans as I wanted to capture the play of light which is so fleeting in an oil painting.

On returning to the studio I worked on the composition and started to produce the final artwork. It certainly lifts one's mood to see the beauty of light in nature.
Picnic Spot is a framed original oil painting created and painted by myself. The back of the artwork is signed and you will receive a Certificate of Authenticity.
