Every year I gaze with amazement at the flowering peonies of our little garden, by their splendour and at the same time fragility of their ephemeral beauty.

It is the flower that is always the most used in Eastern culture where it is considered as a symbol of royalty and honour. The Chinese name of peony could even mean "the most beautiful".
