Original artwork description:

I started this drawing as an exercise to get back into a creative mind after spending the past month cataloguing all my past works. A lot of things go through your head when you are trying to create something aesthetically pleasing to the eye. There was one thought that I could not get out of my head and that was peripheral vision. Judging by the number of wing mirrors I damaged (mine and others) whilst learning to drive I soon learnt how important this vision was. What I have never taken into account was how important this vision was when creating a picture, I have always been a believer that a picture should have a focal point as a clue as to how the picture should be viewed. After a lot of thought, I realised that peripheral thinking is what I do when creating, for example, once the first shape has been drawn, that becomes the focal point and the rest of the canvas becomes the peripheral vision. As the artist, I am constantly trying to balance the image with the peripheral in equal measure. Most of this state of mind becomes subconscious thinking after time.
PS. Peripheral vision is even more important in today’s world as everyone goes around glued to their mobile phone.
