I imagine most portrait painters are obsessed with faces, and I am no exception. This painting is partly about that. That and also perception and interpretation of facial expressions communications of humanity happen because the facial expression doesn’t match the word.
This is unstretched canvas. The framer should attach to backboard when framing.
