Acrylic colours on acid free cold pressed Canson watercololur paper, 300g/m. 11.7 x 16 in., 41 x 29.5cm.
This is a classic structure found in South East Asia and beautifully restored in Singapore. The character comes out in the old windows and the seemingly random design from one unit to the next . And they tend to look great as a painting. Here I am getting away from the illustrative look in favour of a more expressionist feel in black and white, and a bit sepia.
The close up picture is to get a better feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting. Then there’s the work in progress, and me with the painting for perspective.
