One warm summer evening, I was heading home from an outdoor painting session and capturing Kyiv in the golden rays of the setting sun. I wanted to capture that golden light with long cool shadows, which lasts only for a few minutes. Unexpectedly, two girls in Japanese costumes got into the frame – it was very bright and unusual. When I got home, I painted this scene from the photograph, and I think I managed to convey that pleasant mood of a summer stroll. What do you think?

This is an oil painting on cardboard measuring 24x30cm, or 10"x12"
