Peony - a truly luxurious flower. It has long been worthy of the paintings of the artist and palace halls. No wonder he is considered the king of all colors. In its beauty and pomp, the peony competed with the rose. He was loved both in ancient Europe and in ancient China. Legends have been written about him and attributed wonderful properties to him. For example, in Greece the description of beads made from pieces of peony, which was worn around the neck from infancy years, was preserved. It was believed that it heals and scares evil spirits.

 

In China, 1500 years ago, the peony was decorated with imperial gardens. Skillful court gardeners already then deduced new varieties. Surprisingly, the common people were not allowed to grow peonies in their garden. It was a very expensive flower, and still it is considered a symbol of wealth and nobility. Nowadays, giving it means wishing good and well-being.
