Original artwork description:

In this painting, I tried to go beyond the realistic composition to depict the airy nature of the peony, as if a bright red bud floating in the air. I used wide strokes and palette knife to diversify the texture of the background, to emphasize its conventionality. Wide color spots and tonal contrasts are still what attracts me the most in my impressionistic searches.
