Delicate white peony in oil on a dark emerald background, the flower is painted in one session from nature.
I set myself the task of conveying the tenderness, airiness, and “marshmallow” of the flower while showing that the flower is large and quite weighty in volume. The multifaceted nature of the peony, the strict organization, and the understandable shape of the lower petals, contrasting with the randomness and weightlessness of the internal ones.
Like a dress in the fashion of France of the 17th century, like an outfit in the ruffles of Marie Antoinette :)
