Original artwork description:

This is the second time I have painted this scene of Sioux Passage Park in St Louis County, Missouri that I enjoy going to. This park is about 2 miles from my house and I have often gone there to hike or ride my bike up the steep hills. The painting is of an island along the Missouri River. I have always been interested in using strong color in my work and normally push color beyond what I see. Lately I have been studying the 'Colorist' style of painting. I hope the colors I used in this painting draw you in and travel through the painting. The painting is framed in a dark brown wooden frame with warm undertones and an antique gold filet.
