I used to work as a decorator , I still do sometimes . it’s always crossed my mind when stripping layers of wallpaper these are other lives memories who’ve lived and loved in the house. Peel back the layers of time and we will find the marks and images of us left on the wall like peeling wallpaper. Moments of sadness, of joy of love of maybe grief, of visitors and happy times, new homes .. trials and tribulations ... but most of all the living butterfly a symbol of endearing hope .. This is all part of life’s tapestry.
I did these in lockdown and Am trying to keep to some eco painting , up cycling art and using my unsold artworks sometimes and lime And casein plaster with gold leaf on canvas .
