This is a warm toned painting of a very well known thatched stonehouse on North uist in the Outer Hebrides. As is typical of homes on the islands there is a stack of peat ready to fuel the fires. The composition is continued on the edges, giving a 3D effect, so that the painting can be hung without a frame is so desired.
