Description:
During my last trip to Kyoto, I took a short 2-hour side excursion to photograph the Shirahige Shrine on Lake Biwa. While walking along the shore, I became instantly mesmerized by this rowboat. The cleansing smell of the water filled the air and the rhythmic sounds of the gentle waves only added to the beauty of the moment. I setup my tripod and camera and waited for just the right conditions. As the sun moved closer towards the horizon and subsequently dipped behind the clouds, a magical luminescence filled the sky. I hurriedly grabbed the shot before the light had vanished. I can only hope my photo somehow captured a hint of the peace and serenity I felt that morning on Lake Biwa.
*Hahnemuhle fine art gallery paper, 100% cotton, 308 gsm using archival pigment inks.
