Original artwork description:

I found myself doodling while I was half listening to the radio - the doodles consisted of an anchor and poppies. I later decided to paint the scene which was forming in my mind's eye and this is the result. A dark red background with abstract poppies for remembrance, a white dove for peace and an anchor symbolising hope. The beginning of a new collection of paintings which I have signed "Maggi" to distinguish from my regular landscape and seascape work.
