Original artwork description:

This painting is inspired by my painting “Patterns of Sunlight,” painted earlier this year. I wanted to focus closer up on the light patterns on the surface of the water, highlighting the orbs of sunlight sparkling and shining within the patterns.

I have been wanting to focus on painting the patterns that show up on the surface of water for several years now. I've wanted to show them both up close and from a distance, and I have been wanting to paint them big, to feel immersed in the liquid while I'm painting it. I'm not sure why I haven't focused on it sooner, too many amazing places to and explore and to paint I suppose. Whichever the reason, the timing wasn't right...till now. And when I hang the finished painting on the wall of my dining or living room, I really feel the water. So even though I'm at home, and I can't go in the water, I can at least be surrounded by it in my home.

Original Oil painting applied with brushes on archival canvas. Painting is wrapped and painted around the sides, and stretched on heavy-duty stretcher bars. Painting measures 72" x 44" x 1.5." An archival varnish has been applied to accentuate the vibrancy of colors and help protect the original painting.

Custom sized prints available.
