This is inspired by a place I have been frequenting for a few years since being in Menton. “Le 2 Suiss”, is run by a gentleman who not only makes the best Pain au Chocolate I have ever tasted, but is charming and funny and so gracious. The patisserie has lately been decorated in fanciful pastel colors in honor of the theme for this year’s “Festival du Citron”, which is “Bollywood”.... I have made many sketches while passing time in this charming place, but Ifinally got some of the inspiration put onto canvas. The image is simpler than many of my paintings, and painted in a more narrow palette. This canvas is painted around the edges so it can be hung, unframed...
