78cm x 53cm x 5cm (framed) Original abstract painting on stretched canvas

With this work I wanted to use some of the methods used in my relief work and apply them to a two dimensional painting, thus the work is part painting, part collage created from cut out pieces of pre painted canvas in the manner of a patchwork.

Using this collage method allows me to created a visual field of solid intersecting forms and colours, creating a sense of narrative and rhythm in the piece.
