What began as an exploration into surface texture and soft edges gradually started to appear as though a scene was developing. Most of my art making is done just by feel, by touch, by intuition and if something comes through the surface and it feels right, I go with the flow, the energy. This time, many years ago, a bucolic, tranquil scene started to develop and it was quiet and peaceful and I let the palette knife guide the way. It is unframed, but with the right, simple frame this smaller piece can shine and give rise to many moments of reflection.
