Transformation is a process that sometimes needs destruction to reach its full potential.
As a matter of fact I love to experiment with that destructive element. There is a certain beauty in decay that I want to give attention. Provoking a process of aging with oxidization is one method to artificially imply a past. The oxidization makes this process visible, like a time indicator emphasising the fugitive nature of all materia.
With its puristic and geometric character, the painting itself states a counterpoint to the amorph traces and marks. I used a low-key almost neutral color range (the oxidized iron and golden color excluded) but when the light hits the painting from a certain angle it glows. To intensify that effect I also worked with interference colors. This painting definitive has a day and a night alter ego ;-)
