A watercolour painting made from sketches depicting a traditional sailing vessel passing a modern yacht somewhere on the west coast of Scotland. I have so many sketches made every summer that sometimes I forget to write the name of the exact place, although the small scrap of land could very well be Ardnamurchan lighthouse.
It was quite a few years ago I painted it because I now usually paint in acrylic or oils but watercolour was my first love. I have listed the date as 2012 as it was made approximately around this time.
The painting of the boat is quite detailed while the sky, clouds and waves are painted fairly loosely.
No charcoal used this time and painted in watercolour.
Watercolour on heavy textured paper
