Original artwork description:

This work is part of a series that I call 'PASSAGE' or transition from one series to another, and that is why it is even more particular (in fact this series consists of only two works!).

The subject represents the game of chess which has always fascinated me but which I have never learned.

I paint with an ancient technique, that of oil painting.
I paint with oil color, very thin layers of color because it is very diluted, which I put on the painting as it dries, to obtain transparency effects and transform the underlying color to my liking.

To conquer this particular technique and get the results I want, it has taken many years of experiments that are not finished yet.

I remember that while I was painting I wanted to give a lot of emphasis to the light of the checkerboard so much so that the white in the foreground was obtained by spreading stari colors.
this work is unpublished and was part of my private collection
