Original artwork description:

Inspired both by the Greek mythology and Minoan ceramics I have created a collection of sculptures playing with my interpretations of the known legends.

You might remember the story of Europe and the bull, seducted to the island of Crete, but the addiction to the horned beauty doesn't stop there.

Pasiphaë, later queen of Crete and daughter of Helios, stands as a figure of resilience and strength in Greek mythology, her story shaped by the betrayal and hubris of her husband, Minos. When Minos defied Poseidon, it was Pasiphaë who bore the burden of the resulting curse, enduring a humiliating and unnatural compulsion that led to the birth of the Minotaur. This challenging birth, marked by pain and stigma, highlights her role as a mother navigating impossible circumstances. Despite the societal rejection of her son, Pasiphaë’s connection to him endures, reflecting the deep complexities of her character as a beatiful woman facing judgment for circumstances beyond her control, shaped by the arrogance of those around her.
