Original artwork description:

Near the road to the pool where I swim, two palm trees tower above an otherwise shrub-filled roadside landscape. They always catch my eye, and I knew that I would eventually paint them._x000D_ _x000D_ Then one evening last summer as I drove home, I was arrested by the trees silhouetted against a brilliant orange sky, and the street below was almost-dark. Often employed by professional photographers, it was the so-called "magic hour," a brief period just before sunset when the sun sinks below the horizon and the sky is ablaze with warm color.
