I was lucky enough to live within walking distance to Paris' Bois de Boulogne park. At 2.5 times the size of New York's central park, it was a nice escape from the city. The boating lake is popular with tourists, runners and locals alike and shaped by emperor Napoleon III who was inspired by the English parks he had known during his exile in London.

This is an impressionist painting, composed of many small strokes of oil paint to build texture and colour. It is painted on a wooden board that has been sealed and primed. The painting was left for a year before varnishing to protect and enhance.
