This scene was inspired from Balboa Island. Along the pier, it's a small town with a quaint feel. It was towards the end of the day when colors came alive. Across from me, I immediately was attracted to the red door and canoe. I just knew this was the kind of composition I was looking for. I cleaned it up a bit to simplify and make the painting read better. In the end, I felt satisfied my work was accomplished.
