Mini painting 5x7 inches, 12.5 x 17.5 cm.
Plants are one of my fave subjects for painting, and the slipper orchid is a real charm to do. This one goes back a few years, around 2012… it is not dated. Back then I signed my minis with a simple ‘G’.
My inspiration here is the Paph. Or slipper orchid, a graceful forest floor dweller.
The paper is a folded page (paper is 10x7 inch) thus forms a card 5x7 inches. I include an envelope with the painting. So it can be framed art, or a lovely original painting greeting card for an easy, versatile gift.
I like to work with this thick handmade paper for the added texture it brings to the painting.
I include a close up photo to highlight the textured handmade paper. Then there’s a picture with me holding the card, envelope underneath.
