Original artwork description:

Serene image of a woman in a lacy transparent blue veil or wrap.
Behind I have added a glimpse of a receding landscape, with little coloured energy lines rising up from the grass to surround her head.

When painting this image I listened to the wonderful choral music of JS Bach's St. Matthew Passion - on repeat - and then in the final few days of highlighting and varnishing I listened to Cafe del Mar's Aria, again on repeat. I chose the name "Pamina Blue" from one of the tracks from that album.

My favourite colour is Phthalo Blue, especially when it is combined with White and Burnt Sienna.
The little highlights are with richly coloured Caran d'Ache pencil in red, blue, green, turquoise.
Then the canvas has been sprayed with protective UV Archival Matte varnish.
I wanted to retain a loosely painted effect so there are still traces of the original drawing in black Conte pencil ( in the area around her face).

Ready to hang.
The image is painted around the sides of the canvas.

Packed carefully and sent with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Materials used:

conte pencil, acrylic paint, caran d'ache, UV varnish
