This painting transports the viewer into a magical moment of transition from summer to autumn. The canvas is divided into two parts by a horizontal line, as if by an invisible brushstroke. In the upper half, a scene unfolds where mountains and hills are enveloped by a forest, against an ultramarine sky – deep and contrasting. A bright yellow strip of forest seems to capture the last rays of the summer sun, creating a vivid contrast.
Yet, the true enchantment lies in the bottom part of the painting – in its reflection on the mirror-like surface of the water. The water precisely and gently mirrors each element of the landscape, but does so with a special tenderness, transforming reality into an abstract work of art. The reflection of the forest, hills, and mountains becomes a palette of ultramarine, golden, and orange hues, as if a fanciful reflection of autumnal beauty.
