"And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him". Revelations 6:8.
Here I have depicted a young woman contemplating mortality: maybe her own: maybe someone else's. If you look carefully, you can see the pale rider in the upper left corner of the painting. With this work, I am showing an epiphany. Perhaps there is a recognition that a change is necessary.
With a semi-abstract painting of this sort, where the artist is including a recognizable figure with pure abstract forms and color, the problem is always to mate the two in a way that makes both components compatible. Here I am using the female figure and the pale rider as a departure point, leading to the less definitive shapes and colors of the bulk of the painting. I have kept most of this painting within a pallet of cold colors to illustrate the somewhat depressing theme.
PALE RIDER is a one-of-a-kind original work of art. It is produced using India ink and acrylic paint. I only sell original work so there will only be one original. The painting is signed on the front and comes with a signed certificate of authenticity.
This painting will be shipped in a tube. The artwork is very easy to mount on any type of board: plywood, masonite, foamboard, etc. I include simple mounting instructions with each piece that I sell and also I include mounting tape, a hanging strip and a drywall hanging device. Everything that you need to mount your painting except the board. One of the images shows the painting as it will look when mounted with a two inch border all around.
