Original artwork description:

This oil painting on a linen canvas represents the harbour of Palavas les flots in southern France. Palavas is a seaside resort at the estuary of the Lez river (one of the shortest in France) when it flows into the Mediterranean sea. The fishing boats are moored on both sides of the river. As studies for this work I used sketches and watercolours I had made on location in January. In the middle of the week, the place was quite deserted (fishermen sell their fish near their boats only in the mornings) so I could work without disruptions. The light is that of a sunny Winter afternoon. This work is sold with a white floating frame (see last photos). It's also available without a frame (but ready to hang).
