Original artwork description:

'Painted Butterflies' is an original pen and pencil drawing on hand stained paper. Measuring 150mm x 195mm this is a delightful hare study. The writing in this piece is a section taken from the Shakespeare play entitled 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' ...spoken by Titania...

"Hop in his walks and gambol in his eyes;
Feed him with apricocks and dewberries,
With purple grapes, green figs, and mulberries;
The honey-bags steal from the humble-bees,
And for night-tapers crop their waxen thighs
And light them at the fiery glow-worm's eyes,
To have my love to bed and to arise;
And pluck the wings from Painted butterflies
To fan the moonbeams from his sleeping eyes:
Nod to him, elves, and do him courtesies."
.
.........stunning in every way.
I love to experiment with abstract shape and pattern within a drawing and my imagination meanders in a happy way as I draw using words to tell a small tale within the drawing.
