Original artwork description:

Sometimes, you’ve gotta pay to play…
Anyone who has skateboarded knows that unfortunately injuries come with the territory, from minor to major.
This is the second of three pictures drawn in 2011 using Watercolour Pencils days before I had to go to hospital to have the fluid drained from my knee after a bad slam skateboarding. This one shows my swollen calf and trotter(foot)!
It happened skating a bowl, I slipped out and hit my knee on the metal coping.
I guess “Every cloud has a silver lining” if you look hard enough…
I couldn’t walk properly but at least I had a lot of interesting pretty coloured bruises and shapes to draw! Having always bruised quite easily I’ve actually always been fascinated by the variety of colours in bruises, different colours bleeding into one another (literally!) Sometimes I think they look a bit like photos of deep space and the different coloured gases around distant constellations or galaxies.
A note to International Buyers:
Shipping rates have increased in price all around the world due to Covid and other complications. Due to this I have had to increase the the cost of shipping my artworks in line with the Delivery Companies. I will always strive to find the cheapest possible option for the customer (usually my local POST OFFICE EMS Recorded Delivery, but unfortunately they don’t deliver to every country at the moment) If the amount of shipping charged at purchase is less than the shipping company charges then I will refund the difference to the customer. This refund will be done after the picture has arrived safely and has been accepted.
Any import duties, taxes and charges that may be payable are not included in the item price or shipping cost. These charges, if applicable, will be the responsibility of the buyer. Please message me to check if this might affect your purchase.
