This is one of the series of paintings inspired by the magnificent colours of the sunset on the Pacific coast of Cost-Rica. On one of the evenings the setting sun turned sky and the sea into the brightest purple, red and orange, with the gold of the sun itself and its reflected path on the water hurting one's eyes. This sunset caught people as they were sitting in the cafe nearby, walking their dogs on the beach, playing football, their children enjoying the last moments of the day in the water - it simply cast a spell on them with the magic of the disappearing sun, stunning colours impossible to recreate. People held their smartphones trying to capture it, with the light of the screens dotted along the beach, even though no camera would be ever able to capture this enchanted beauty.
