Original artwork description:

This is a painting of a coastal scene in Pacific Grove, California, done en plein air - a french term meaning "outdoors", on location. Plein air artists capture the spirit and essence of a landscape or subject by incorporating natural light, color and movement into their works.

My attraction to this scene was the colors and shapes of the cliffs, as well as the atmospheric effects provided by a marine layer, which is an air mass which develops over the surface of a large body of water such as the ocean.

Materials: Oil on Premium Oil Primed Centurion DLX Linen artist panel. Painting surface is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish. The painting is Unframed, and it requires a frame to hang. Images showing the artwork framed in home interiors are for presentation only. Frame is NOT included.
