PASSIONE uses the strength and hardness of metal to represent an emotional theme. Metal, a material that evokes solidity and strength, is chosen to give a feeling of something overwhelming and permanent, in contrast with the ephemeral human feelings. The red square evokes the idea of an emotional "slag", as if the intensity of passion left its mark.
The forms in the work are enveloping, almost in tension to symbolize the tumultuous and overwhelming nature of passion.
The metal is treated with different finishes and color play, a contrast between lights and shadows that emphasizes emotional tension. The reflection of light on the metal surface contributes to give a feeling of warmth, as if the work itself "burns", just like passion, which is an intense and sometimes painful emotion. Warm tones, such as red or gold, are used to evoke the strength of this feeling.
The work explores the contradictions inherent in this emotion. Passion, in fact, is often seen as a consuming force, which can be at the same time source of great pleasure and great suffering. With this work I wanted to represent the conflict between the desire to surrender to passion and the need for control. Metal, with its rigidity, represents the idea of something that cannot be easily bent or scratched, but which, although solid, can also be threatening in its power.
