Owl, awareness is a painting from my Animal Spirit series. This series is inspired by wilderness and the symbolical meaning of the animals.

The Owl has always been a symbol of awareness and intense presence with it's wide open eyes and the ability to turn its head around. This is the quality of the owl I wanted to emphasize in this painting. There are many occasions when we need a little reminder to stay present, aware of the moment and enjoy life in all its intensity. I hope this painting could help its new owner(s) to have that energy in their space and in their lives.

It also symbolizes wilderness, magic, nocturnal nature, wisdom and transition (from one world to another, from one life phase to another and from one way of thinking to another).
