This painting is a portrait of a woman, who is a lively, young student at the University of Chicago. I am an architect, as well as an artist, and I am inspired by the beauty of the Gothic architecture at UChicago. The student, with her electronic devices, symbolizes the dynamism and change at the university. In contrast, the Gothic Revival architecture in the Main Quadrangle, symbolizes the conservative traditions and stable framework that they provide. This art is from my series of cityscape paintings of the Main Quadrangles at UChicago.

Shipped to the U.S. as is, hung on stretcher bars. For international sales: In order to keep shipping rates low, this painting is shipped as a rolled canvas. The rolled canvas is wrapped around wooden stretcher bars that can be used to re-stretch it after arrival.
