Once my sister and her boyfriend were on the vocation at a ski resort in the Austrian Alps. She sent me some pictures with a view out of the window. I remember when i was looking at one of these silent views i was seeing a finished painting. It’s only remained to transfer it to the canvas. I used straight, strict lines, a limited palette, muted tones to convey the silence, static and monumentality of the landscape. The picture turned out the way I intended it and is still one of my favorite works.

Description:
view from the window to the mountain landscape. There is some guest house in the foreground. Nearby there is an outbuilding with snow on the roof. The weather is sunny and clear. A forest grows on the side of the mountain. In the distance you can see a mountain peak covered with snow.
