The aesthetics of the geisha world have always fascinated me for painting probably because my first exhibition was held in Japan where i lived for a short but intense period of my life The background is made of golden leaves glued over diferent colors these golden leaves are very usually used in traditional japanese backgrounds This technique does also a reference to the japanesse technique of Kentsugi that highlights the imperfections in gold during the repair work ,so that they can be seen and thus give the object a new life
