Artwork description:

Out of the blue is a hand made, limited edition, original linocut print.

One of the first signs of spring are the catkins that grow on the curly hazel bush in my garden. I thought their cheery yellow would be beautifully matched to that of the bluetits which frequent the bird feeders hanging nearby and so the idea for the print came into being.

It was produced in 2021 by the reduction method whereby a block of lino is carved, inked and printed in stages, to allow a picture to be built up of layers of colours. Once the final layer is carved and printed the lino block is no longer useable and no more prints can be made.
It comes from a small edition of 15 prints, no more can be made from the Lino block
Size of printed area 30x21 cm
Signed by me, titled and numbered on the front.
Sold unframed for you display as you choose.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS ITEM IS HANDMADE AND NOT MASS PRODUCED.
ALL THE PRINTS IN THE EDITION ARE CARVED AND PRINTED AT THE SAME TIME, USING HIGH QUALITY SCHMINCKE INKS AND SOMERSET SATIN PAPER, BUT THESE ARE SUBJECT TO VARIATIONS SUCH AS TEMPERATURE, PRESSURE and APPLICATION. SO ALTHOUGH SUPERFICIALLY IDENTICAL, EACH PRINT WILL HAVE SMALL VARIATIONS, MAKING IT COMPLETELY UNIQUE.
Packaging
This print will be wrapped in acid free tissue paper and secured in a moisture proof cello bag. It will then be protected by two strong pieces of cardboard (I try to use recycled cardboard packaging whenever I can) I use Royal mail tracked service for all my prints.

Please note, the picture in the room mock up that I use is an example and not properly to scale, please check the actual dimensions of the artwork.

Materials used:

Somerset Satin paper and Schmincke inks
