The Chevin is a lovely wooded hill situated to the north of Leeds, just outside Otley. My family and I have walked the paths for many years and I have very many fond memories of exploring this lovely spot through all the seasons of the year.
This print captures my fiance and our son as they walk along one of the avenues of trees on The Chevin. The wall on the right of the picture is known locally as the Wacca Wall. I think the wall was built - quite unusually by standing stones on their ends - to keep a local farmers sheep from falling down the steep drop beyond.
I am really satisfied with how this print has come out. I was very careful with the tones within the colour palette to generate a sense of depth. I think this has worked really well.
