The painting depicts a woman sitting on the sofa at home. After finishing her household chores, she sat down to read a book and drink a herbal tea, but had to stop to breastfeed her son.
The work is made with natural pigments mixed with linseed and safflower oil on canvas and mounted on a wooden frame, chassis.
The work is the first for the new "Otium" cycle that will deal with the theme of leisure as the ancient Romans understood it, that is, a creative leisure, a moment of study, personal and spiritual enrichment, which was opposed to the shop, that is, to activities connected to work and material gain.
