Following two trips to see the artwork in Italy and Paris. I began a series of figurative pieces after decades of abstraction. This is the first painting that is an effort to meld the two styles. With the marks of abstraction describing spaces and painting light. I am drawn to the mystery of empty spaces that suggest a narrative to which we don't quite have access.
