Original artwork description:

Painted in acrylics, 'Orla' is part of a collection I'm working on.

Each piece is named according to how I would see them represented as a person. The piece is coloured with gold, black, pink + red acrylic paint. The gold is dominant and therefore Orla sprung to mind.

The name Orla is a girl's name of Irish origin meaning "golden princess".
Orla is an Irish name closely associated with the high king Brian Boru, as it was the name of his sister, daughter and niece. It was very popular in the Middle Ages – the fourth most popular name in twelfth century Ireland and is popular again today.

Materials used:

wooden board, acrylic paints
