This original watercolour painting features a beautiful dark skin black woman with gorgeously textured afro hair. She's confident and knows her worth, even if the world doesn't acknowledge it.
This artwork was created during the George Floyd protests in 2020 as my own personal response to what was happening in the world at the time. I wanted to depict a black woman who despite hardships faced in her life including others who have tried to make her feel 'less than', she still sees herself as worthy of love and respect, especially in her own eyes. She's strong and confident and it shows.
It has been painted on tinted paper which measures approx. 8.3" x 11.7" and is acid free. I've used watercolour paints and gouache to create this artwork.
It has been signed and dated on the front and will be shipped in a clear plastic sleeve and a board-backed envelope marked with 'Please Do Not Bend'
