Oxide is a feast of variegated sheets and fine coloured powders. Achieving the technique was quite a challenge and took much trial and error!! Without giving my tricks away, I happened upon a certain medium, mixed it with a special solution…to a special consistency and applied to the wet resin in droplet fashion using a special dispenser. The amounts are crucial, and it's all done by eyeball!! The next day when the resin has dried the areas where the solution was applied remains tacky, and I can carefully overlay the gold leaf, silver leaf and variegated leaf sheets, and I then buff the surface to give a flawless finish.
